Winter Transportation Ambassador

We have multiple positions available, including:
Part-Time: 1, 2 or 3 Days a Week (positions available for all)
Most (but not all) Part-Time Positions or Shifts require a Saturday or a Sunday,
and the flexibility to work holiday periods
Positions & Training Shifts will start in Early December
*Please note that the Shuttle Department is on an alternative workweek of 4/10s (meaning you work 4 10-hour shifts)
WAGE RANGE: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Winter Transportation Ambassador (aka Shuttle Driver) will operate under the direction of the Winter Transportation Manager and in accordance with the Club’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and service standards. They will operate all Shuttles to the highest safety, service, and hospitality standards. They are the first and last point of contact with our membership and their guests in creating an unforgettable winter experience.
Shuttle responsibilities include (but are not limited to) running a scheduled service from Lookout Lodge to and from the Northstar Village and an on-demand, door-to-door service, within the Martis Camp community. As a critical part of our Winter Operations Team, they will work closely with the Winter Transportation Manager and other Lookout Lodge Ambassadors to ensure the Martis Camp member’s experience is nothing less than extraordinary.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comfortably and safely operate all buses within our fleet during winter driving conditions.
- Safe transportation of members and their guests, both on and off property.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Northstar ski experience with an ability to describe daily interactions in terms of snow conditions, lift ticket requirements, ski lift status, road conditions, and how to obtain this information and navigate the Northstar Village.
- Display strong, positive communication skills and create a cooperative working environment with Ambassadors and Club Members.
- Ability to work face-to-face in close quarters with members, their guests, and your fellow Ambassadors.
- Display a superior service attitude and well-groomed presentation. Always present a positive “can do” attitude and anticipate the needs of our members, their guests, and your fellow Ambassadors as a guiding philosophy.
- Communicate efficiently by cell phone and radio, with professional etiquette at all times.
- Track, maintain, and preserve all activity counts daily and supply the Transportation Manager with a completed report.
- Be flexible to reasonable schedule changes as required and be available on weekends and holidays.
- Able to get to work punctually with consideration to winter driving conditions.
- Any other duties as needed to improve safety and assist fellow Ambassadors in fulfilling Martis Camp’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Ability to interact and develop positive relationships within and outside the organization.
- Proficient with the shuttle app and calls being dispatched.
- Maintain high ethical and moral standards, including personal presentation of staff that are reflected in management and interactions with the members.

- Posses and maintain a valid CDL license, including a passenger endorsement, by passing biennial medical examinations.
- Must be over 21 with a minimum of three years as a licensed driver.
- Must provide a copy of clean DMV record upon offer of employment.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen with a negative result (this includes marijuana) per Federal DOT regulations
- Pre-employment background screen as you will transport unaccompanied minors
- Comfortable driving in adverse conditions, especially during night and winter weather.
- Able to confidently operate snow removal equipment, including shovels and snow blowers (training will be provided).
- Ability to operate a pressure washer.
- Flexible schedule.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Hearing and verbal skills to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as telephone, radio, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
