POSITION SUMMARY:  
The Golf Shop Retail Associate is the primary point of contact to assist in servicing the needs of the membership and their guests with regards to golf matters in the golf shop.  Duties associated with this position including constant presence in the golf shop, email, phone and in person communications, retail and merchandising, daily management of tee sheet software, event set up and execution and inventory control procedures. The Golf Shop Retail Associate will also seek opportunities to create memories by anticipating needs, exceeding expectations, and building relationships.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Provide excellent hospitality by providing friendly and professional advice to all patrons, Including a warm welcome, engaged interaction and fond farewell.
  • Be proactive with daily communication: in person, by phone, email or information board.
  • Assist with member and guest retail needs including POS duties and other check-in duties.
  • Assist in inventory control measures and tracking.
  • Assist in the merchandise input, tagging, display, sales to include special orders and follow up.
  • Assist with product promotion inside the golf shop, Ladies’ and Men’s Locker rooms.
  • Keep fiscal responsibility and member satisfaction in mind when making all decisions.
  • Take part in keeping Martis Camp clean and litter free. Cleanliness is everyone’s responsibility, take ownership in the Club.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Martis Camp standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the Club.
  • Comply at all times with Martis Camp standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient Club operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of golf operations is preferred.
  • Experience working with merchandise in a retail operation is preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management software and point of sale software is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (with or without accommodations)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Must be able to move boxes, stock items, and maintain efficiency during entire shift
  • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 5 hours at a time
  • Ability to twist, kneel, bend repeatedly when moving items and assisting members.

WAGE RANGE: $19 - $22 per hour
