POSITION SUMMARY:
The Banquet Lead Houseman is responsible for overseeing the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of banquet spaces to ensure events run smoothly and efficiently. The Lead Houseman supervises a team of housemen, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards. They must possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and be flexible. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining the inventory of banquet supplies and equipment, as well as ensuring cleaning and safety protocols are followed at all times. The Banquet Lead Houseman plays a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for guests and contributing to the overall success of banquet events. This is a year-round full-time position.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and assist houseman in set up and break down of event spaces.
  • Organize pulling equipment and goods for events in correct quantities and delivered to specified locations.
  • Ensure all items listed on pull sheets from management are polished, clean, organized, and ready for immediate use.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas and hold houseman to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ensure flatbed carts are clean and in working condition and charging for the next day.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace.
  • Manage and assist in transporting soiled equipment and linen to their designated areas.
  • Pick up washed equipment from loading dock and restock banquet storage areas.
  • Operate delivery vans, box trucks and food truck moving equipment to and from specific locations
  • Ability to manage and hold team to high standards.
  • Follow company safety and security procedures; report accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Ensure your appearance is always professional, clean and in accordance with Martis Camp Club grooming guidelines.
  • Verify all events are completed to Banquet Event Order (BEO) and managers specifications daily.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interact and develop positive relationships within the organization.
  • Bilingual preferred (English / Spanish)
  • Maintain high ethical and moral standards.
  • Excellent verbal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES:

  • 2-year experience in banquets or events preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license to drive a box truck and food truck


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (with or without accommodation)

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. assisted and 50lbs without assistance continuously throughout the shift
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, pull and push to assist with storage, cleaning duties, and event space maintenance

WAGE RANGE: $22 - $25 per hour plus gratuities
